Unit Driver

The Unit Driver operates production vehicles under the Transport Captain — moving equipment, crew, cast as scheduled.

What the role does

• Drives production vehicles to + from locations + base
• Loads + secures production cargo
• Coordinates with Transport Captain on schedule + routing
• Maintains vehicle compliance — licensing, insurance, fuel, basic maintenance

Position

Reports to Transport Captain.

Career progression

SI Competency Framework Level 2 — Foundation through Level 4 — Expert depending on driver category (HGV, specialist vehicles).

Working pattern

Freelance, shoot-heavy. Driver-licence-category-dependent.
