Intimacy Coordinator
The Intimacy Coordinator is a specialist role for productions including scenes involving intimacy, simulated sex, or nudity. Ensures performer consent, on-set safety, and choreography of intimacy scenes. Has become an industry-standard requirement on productions with such content following the post-2017 movement and codified in the Safe to Create + Minding Creative Minds framework.
What the role does
- Coordinates consent + boundary discussions with performers before any intimate scene
- Choreographs intimacy + simulated sex in collaboration with director + performers

- Acts as the liaison between performers and the production's senior team on consent matters
