The Stunt Coordinator is the head of department for Stunts. Designs action sequences in collaboration with the director, supervises the Stunt Performer team, and carries safety + risk-assessment responsibility for every stunt on the production.

  • Designs action sequences in collaboration with the director
  • Risk-assesses every stunt — safety planning, contingencies
  • Coordinates with 1st Assistant Director (1st AD) on shoot-day stunt scheduling
  • Supervises Stunt Performer team
  • Liaises with H&S officer + insurance broker on stunt risk
  • Often performs stunt doubling for principal cast on demanding sequences

Position

Reports to director + producer. Carries safety + insurance accountability for stunt work.

Long-arc specialist career — typically requires Equity Stunt Register listing or equivalent industry-recognised qualification.
