Carpenters / Plasterers / Painters

The working-trade roles in Construction — Carpenters, Plasterers, Painters — perform the actual set-build work under their respective trade HoDs.

What the role does

• Carpenters — build set walls, structures, doors, furniture, woodwork
• Plasterers — surface finishes, mouldings, ceilings, decorative plaster
• Painters — paint finishes, scenic painting, ageing effects, varnishing

Position

Carpenters report to HoD Carpenter. Plasterers report to HoD Plasterer. Painters report to HoD Painter. All sit within Construction under Construction Coordinator.

Career progression

SI Competency Framework Level 2 — Foundation through Level 4 — Expert depending on experience + trade specialism. Trade-specific apprenticeship + bench-experience path.

Working pattern

Freelance, prep-heavy. Trade-union representation through the relevant Irish trade union.
