Costume Trainee

The Costume Trainee is the entry-level Costume role. Works under the Standby Costume Assistant / Costume Supervisor learning workroom + on-set discipline.

What the role does

• Supports workroom tasks — fitting prep, alterations, repairs, deliveries
• Assists on-set with continuity and quick changes
• Maintains costume area organisation + labelling

Position

Reports to Standby Costume Assistant or Costume Supervisor.

Career progression

SI Competency Framework Level 1 — New Entrant. Path: Trainee → Standby Costume Assistant → Costume Supervisor.
