Digital Imaging Technician (DIT)
The Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) is the senior on-set technician managing the digital signal path from camera through to recorded media. Responsibility for image quality, colour, monitoring, and data integrity sits with the DIT.
What the role does
- Sets up on-set monitoring — colour, exposure, framing
- Manages the camera-to-recorder signal path + technical metadata
- Performs on-set look application (CDLs, LUTs)
- Coordinates with Director of Photography (DoP / DP) on look + with post on technical specs
- Supervises Data Wrangler / Manager on data management
Position
Reports to Director of Photography (DoP / DP). Supervises Data Wrangler / Manager.
